The Service Protestant de le Jeunesse is the Commission for Youth within the United Protestant Church in Belgium, while remaining an independent non-profit-making association. There are three main sectors: the Diaconal Year/EVS sector; the Youth Training Programme (we train young people to become ‘animators’ for children) and ‘animations’ (camps and themed weekends and days). We also have a quarterly publication called SPJ News. The Diaconal Year in Belgium was founded in the early 80s. We now send an average of 1–3 volunteers per year but not always to EDYN projects and we host an average of 15 volunteers in total, mostly from Germany and Hungary although we are very happy to host other nationalities.

Diaconal Year in Denmark is owned by 21 church related organisations as well as some local congregations in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Denmark. Our programme is designed to host young volunteers on a long term, full time basis. Every year we host around 30 volunteers in 25 projects. Our projects fall under 3 social areas: (I) care of abusers, homeless or immigrants in cafés or community centres, (II) leading children and youth activities, (III) providing health care services for the disabled and the elderly. Diaconal Year also sends out Danish volunteers to partner organisations in Europe and the USA . All volunteers are trained and supported by supervisors within a structure of interviews and preparatory seminars. Orientation is given at the introduction, mid-term and at the end-of-service as well as for re-entry.

The Ecumenical Council of Churches in Slovakia (ECCSR) is a fellowship of churches, which professes the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour and Head of the Church, and considers the Holy Scriptures and ecumenical profession as their common religious ground. The ECCSR member churches undertake to build up unity among Christians; to search for particular forms of collaboration among churches in service to people through revival and Diacony; and to endeavour to achieve the highest possible agreement concerning all controversial issues. This is the background into which the voluntary service programme of ECCSR is embedded. Thus the young volunteers serve in a variety of diaconal institutions. The programme as such was created in 2004 and since that time it sends, hosts and coordinates international volunteers.

KR ÖDÉ (Kárpátaljai Református Önkéntes Diakóniai Év) is the voluntary program of the Reformed Church of Transcarpathia in Ukraine. It provides opportunities for young adults to serve God following Christ among those in need in Ukraine or abroad. Through this faith journey the volunteers and communities where they serve can learn about themselves, about the world they live in and about God who can change lives. Our main target group is young adults (18-30 year olds). However, we can also have some opportunities for all ages. Currently we offer placements in the work with orphans, abandoned children, among young people, in church communities, serving among those in need, addicted people or work with elderly.
